Intermediate Bearded

An intermediate bearded iris (IB) is a medium-sized bearded iris, growing 16 to 27.5 inches tall, positioned between standard dwarf and tall bearded irises in size. These irises bloom after standard dwarf bearded irises and before tall bearded irises, creating a seamless transition of color in the garden from mid to late spring. IB irises feature smaller flowers than tall bearded irises but are proportionally balanced to their height, making them ideal for borders and mixed flower beds. They thrive in full sun with well-drained soil and are valued for their hardiness, versatility, and vibrant presence in any landscape.
