Is it Summer? Is it Spring? Is it Fall?
That could be the million dollar question. From day to day it is difficult to tell exactly what time of year it is. One day I am getting out my shorts and the next day the long under wear seems very appealing. That may be more information than many of you want to know so let's talk “irises”.
EARLY BLOOM SEASON THIS SPRING ....
The early heat wave we had in March has advanced the bloom season here in West Virginia by about 10 days or so. Peak bloom for me is usually around the 24th of May but I am expecting peak season this year to be around the 14th of May. Garden visitors usually flock here for Memorial Day weekend but they are going to be disappointed this year as most of the bloom will be gone by the 31st . Please note the following dates and hours of operation:
GARDEN OPEN DATE: MAY 8 TH
GARDEN HOURS: NOON TO 6PM DAILY WHILE THERE IS BLOOM
